Montessori FAQs Unplugged Book One: Infants and Toddlers Review
Written by a Montessori teacher and mom, and using real-life examples from parents and educators, Montessori FAQs Unplugged addresses the many challenges that are faced when implementing the Montessori Method with infants and toddlers at home or in a daycare setting.
The book was created out of the hundreds of email questions Lisa Nolan received from parents and educators who joined her online Internet Montessori programs at her website, Montessori for the Earth, or who visited her blog, Confessions of a Montessori Mom, and who needed further help and guidance to incorporate the Montessori Method in their home or daycare.
This 80 page book is divided into six chapters (with questions and answers) about: 1) Behavior, 2) Sleep, Routines, and Bedtime, 3) Giving Lessons and Doing Activities, 4) Circle Time and Motor Movement, 5) Food and Mealtime, and 6) Special Needs and Developmental Delays.
Lisa Nolan is a trained and certified Montessori teacher. She has taught Montessori in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1986. She took her Montessori primary training in 1986 at The Maria Montessori School of the Golden Gate in San Francisco with the late headmistress, Ursula Thrush. She then took her Montessori elementary training in 1988 at The Maria Montessori School of the Golden Gate in San Francisco through the University Extension, University of California Berkeley. She received an MA from San Francisco State University. After her son was born with Down syndrome in 2004, Lisa Nolan has used Montessori concepts and principles for his education since his birth.
This book will be a valuable contribution to those parents and educators who are searching for answers to their questions in caring for very young children using the philosophies of the Montessori Method. Readmore .. .
